Aridity Map of Latin America and the Caribbean

This map shows the hydroclimatic zones of Latin America and the Caribbean, using the classification based on the Aridity Regime.

The Aridity Regime is based on the number of months a location experiences a deficit in precipitation (P) compared to evapotranspiration (ET), considering that month as 'dry' when P/ET<0.5. The number of dry months are then used to classify into Aridity Regimes (Verbist et al., 2010).
